A flower can read as comfort in one home and as the wrong thing in another. Gratefi knows the cues that shift across cultures, so what you send lands the way you meant it to.

  1. Bereavement

    When a colleague's parent passes.

    In many Indian Hindu families, white flowers are welcome at a time of loss. In Jewish tradition, flowers at a shiva can feel out of place; a kosher food basket or a donation in the person's name does more.

    A new baby on the team.

    In many Chinese-Singaporean families, the baby isn't introduced until the one-month Mun Yuet. In much of the US, a baby shower comes before the birth and gifts arrive the day the baby's home. Both warm; right at different moments.
